Killington Mountain Facts
Killington Mountain is the largest ski and snowboard resort in eastern North America known for long seasons thanks to abundant natural snowfall and the most extensive snow making system in the world.
Opening for business on Dec. 13, 1958 with two surface lifts and seven trails, today Killington Resort stretches across six mountain areas and features 22 lifts – including two express gondolas and seven express chairs – which provide access to the highest lift-served ski terrain in Vermont at 4,241 feet off Killington Peak. Killington Resort covers more than 750 acres, featuring 71 miles of diverse terrain on 141 trails and provides skiers and riders of all ability levels a choice of wide-open groomed cruisers, narrow classic New England runs, moguls, steeps and 13 tree skiing areas. Killington’s nationally recognized terrain parks at Bear Mountain offer freeskiers and riders multiple features for jibbing and jumping, including a 430-foot long Superpipe with 18-foot walls and The Stash – an all natural terrain park located off the shoulder of Skye Peak and accessible by the Skye Peak Express debuted last season.
